Gulf Dentex

DUBAI, 29th January, 2018 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi will play host to the inaugural edition of Arab International Dental Conference and Exhibition, Gulf Dentex, from 22nd to 24th October, 2018, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, ADNEC, said.

Indian Dental Association, IDA, the second largest dental association in the world, and Al Fajer Information and Services, the exhibition and conference organiser, held a press conference at Conrad Dubai on Monday to announce details of the three-day event.

In 2016, the global dental sector was worth US$25.45 billion and it is expected to reach $35.35 billion by 2021. The Middle East and Africa are amongst the top high-potential dental markets in the world, with fast-growing capabilities. The dental consumables market in the region was valued at $1.3 billion for the year 2015 and is poised to reach $1.44 billion by the end of 2020 while the global dental consumables market would touch $34.5 billion by 2021.

The UAE is the world’s fastest-growing medical tourism hub poised to become the world’s top destination with total health expenditure allocation jumping from the current $23 billion to $28 billion by 2021.

“We are delighted to associate with the Indian Dental Association to mark the inaugural edition of Gulf Dentex 2018. The event will not only offer valuable learning opportunities but also celebrate the success and ground-breaking initiatives of the UAE dental and healthcare market. The dental profession and the dental industry are vital partners in delivering oral health to populations around the world. Their symbiotic relationship is even more important today as new materials and technology are developed rapidly to accommodate the latest treatment philosophies. At Gulf Dentex, we aim to bring the best in the industry together to share ideas and encouragement,” said Satish Khanna, General Manager, Al Fajer Information and Services, Dubai.

“The UAE has what it takes to become the preferred destination for oral healthcare, and through Gulf Dentex 2018, our objective is to create increased awareness about the facilities and services offered by the country. We aim to showcase the UAE’s expertise to not just the local audience, but also to international audiences,” said Dr. Ashok Dhoble, Secretary-General, Indian Dental Association, India.

“In 2020, the global oral care market is estimated to be worth about $39.47 billion and the oral healthcare spend in the UAE has been increasing over the past few years. As per Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, the emirate aims to provide an integrated continuum of care for individuals thereby improving the quality of healthcare services, patient safety and experience; attracting, training and retaining qualified healthcare professionals, and ensuring value for money and sustainability of healthcare spending. With the emirate set to become a role model in the healthcare services, it was ideal that Abu Dhabi be chosen as a venue for Gulf Dentex. While this is just the inaugural edition, we are confident that Gulf Dentex will become an annual calendar event,” Khanna said in conclusion.
